UI/UX Software Engineer
The job description
Tech stack. React, TypeScript, design systems, Figma collaboration, interaction design, animation libraries, accessibility (WCAG), user research synthesis, usability testing, prototyping
About the role
You will sit at the intersection of design and engineering, building interfaces where implementation quality directly shapes the user experience people remember. UI/UX engineers here do far more than translate mockups into code: they prototype interactions, refine motion and timing, and bring genuine design sensibility to engineering decisions. You will partner with designers every day, run usability tests on your own work, and advocate for the user whenever technical convenience conflicts with experience quality. The result is software that feels considered and delightful in every interaction, not merely functional. This role is for engineers with taste.
What you will achieve
- Ship interfaces with exceptional interaction quality: thoughtful animations, responsive feedback, and micro-interactions validated through usability testing with real users
- Build and evolve the design system: accessible components, motion guidelines, and theming architectures that keep the entire product visually coherent
- Prototype rapidly for design exploration: interactive mockups that let the team evaluate ideas with genuine feel before committing engineering resources
- Improve UX metrics measurably: task completion rates, time on task, and satisfaction scores driven upward by your implementation work
- Bridge design and engineering disciplines: translating design intent faithfully while surfacing technical constraints early, clearly, and constructively
What you will bring
Must-haves
- 2 to 5 years building user interfaces with a portfolio demonstrating genuine design sensibility, not just functional implementation skills
- Strong React and TypeScript skills with careful attention to component API design and reusable, composable patterns
- Deep CSS expertise: modern layouts, animations, transitions, and the fine details that make interfaces feel polished and intentional
- Experience collaborating with designers: Figma workflows, design handoff processes, and constructive critique in both directions
- Understanding of usability principles: visual hierarchy, affordance, feedback, and error prevention applied in shipped products
- Familiarity with accessibility implementation: WCAG guidelines, keyboard interaction design, and screen reader compatibility done properly
- BS in Computer Science, Design, HCI, or equivalent experience
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with motion design tools or animation libraries such as Framer Motion or GSAP used with restraint and taste
- Familiarity with user research methods: usability testing facilitation, A/B testing, and synthesizing findings into design changes
- Knowledge of design tools sufficient to contribute directly: Figma component design, auto-layout, or interactive prototyping
- Experience with internationalization and localization of complex, content-rich interfaces
