The job description

Tech stack. rotor blade design, airfoil selection, blade element momentum theory, XROTOR, CAMRAD, composite blade structures, hover performance analysis, whirl flutter

About the role

You will join an eVTOL aircraft company to design the rotor and propeller blades themselves, the airfoils that convert motor torque into lift and thrust. While the propulsion team owns motors and inverters, you own the blade: planform, twist, airfoil sections, and the composite structure that must survive centrifugal loads and fatigue. Your blades determine hover efficiency, cruise performance, and a large share of the aircraft's acoustic signature, and they are among the most safety-critical parts on the vehicle. You will work between the propulsion team's motors and the aerodynamicists' performance targets, owning the component where those worlds meet, and your blades will spin on every flight the aircraft ever makes.
