The job description

Tech stack. HOMER Pro, PSCAD, ETAP, battery modeling tools, EMS/SCADA platforms, Python, NFPA 855, UL 9540/9540A documentation

About the role

You will join a clean energy company deploying utility-scale battery storage projects that firm up renewables and capture wholesale market value. The storage engineering team owns system sizing, technology selection, controls strategy, and performance guarantees from development through operations. This role matters because storage economics live or die on dispatch strategy, degradation modeling, and availability, and your engineering sets all three. You will own the full storage lifecycle from use-case modeling through augmentation planning, since a battery that degrades faster than modeled destroys project returns. The role spans front-of-meter and behind-the-meter applications, each with different dispatch logic, warranty constraints, and revenue stacks. You will be the technical voice in utility and ISO stakeholder processes as interconnection and market rules for storage keep evolving. Safety engineering is central to the job: you will review thermal propagation test results and site layouts against NFPA 855 until every authority having jurisdiction signs off.
