About the Role

Join us as a Software Engineer at a groundbreaking federally chartered digital bank, where you'll have the rare opportunity to build critical financial infrastructure from the ground up. You'll be instrumental in architecting and developing our bank core systems while ensuring the highest standards of security, compliance, and reliability that banking demands.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect digital banking interfaces including onboarding flows, web dashboards and APIs ensuring scalability and regulatory compliance from day one.
• Lead full-stack development of back office systems that is tested, resilient to outages, highly-available, and maintains data integrity.
• Build foundational frontend infrastructure, from design system, component library, build pipes, and observability, to keep the product fast, reliable, and scalable.
• Design intuitive and beautiful user interfaces that follow engineering and design best practices and are easy to use.
• Own full-stack builds from database schema design in Postgres to snappy frontends, with deep responsibility for system architecture decisions that will scale with the bank.
• Build a culture of technical excellence that ships quality, fast.

Experience Required

• 4+ years of frontend or full-stack software engineering experience with at least 3 years building production systems at scale
• Deep expertise in React and Typescript with proven experience building high-throughput, fault-tolerant systems that handle financial transactions or similarly critical data
• 0-1 project experience with comfort in ambiguous environments, willingness to wear multiple hats, and ability to make pragmatic technical decisions under time and regulatory constraints
• Understanding of financial systems including payment processing, accounting principles, reconciliation processes, or regulatory compliance requirements (bonus: direct banking/fintech experience)
• Security-first mindset with experience implementing encryption, access controls, audit logging, and other security measures for sensitive data and financial transactions
• Bonus: Previous founding experience or engineering leadership roles, demonstrating ability to build and scale technical teams and make strategic technology decisions
