Mechanical Designer
Galadyne is rebuilding missile architectures for production at scale using fully liquid propulsion. We're seeking a Mechanical Designer to own the CAD, drawings, and configuration for our vehicles and launch systems, turning engineering intent into hardware the shop and our suppliers can build right the first time.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain 3D models and assemblies for vehicle structures, propulsion hardware, and ground and launch systems
- Produce production ready detail and assembly drawings with correct GD&T, tolerances, and callouts
- Own configuration control: part numbering, revisions, BOMs, and the release process in PDM
- Work daily with responsible engineers to turn sketches, markups, and requirements into clean, buildable designs
- Run fit checks and interference checks, and support assembly on the floor when hardware doesn't match the model
- Package and release drawings to machine shops and vendors, and answer their questions
- Build CAD standards and templates so the model scales from one vehicle to thousands
Qualifications
- 2+ years producing production CAD and drawings for aerospace, defense, or industrial hardware
- Expert in a parametric CAD tool (SolidWorks, NX, or Creo) and PDM/PLM workflows
- Working command of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and design for manufacturing: machining, sheet metal, weldments, and fasteners
- Disciplined about configuration: you know which revision is on the floor and why
- Comfortable working onsite next to the hardware in an early stage environment
Nice to have
- Launch vehicle, missile, or ground support equipment experience
- Tube, fluid line, and harness routing in CAD
- Experience supporting high rate production
This is a zero to one role with real ownership and meaningful purpose. Every part we fly or ship starts in your model. Join us in rebuilding missile systems for real production scale.
Additional Details
- Onsite in Del Valle, TX (Austin).
- US person / ITAR eligible
Matching profile
The match is a designer whose daily output is models, drawings, and released BOMs, not analysis or requirements. Title alone misleads in both directions, so match on what they produce.
