About the role

You will own the complete imaging pipeline in products where camera quality is evaluated by human eyes and compared mercilessly against the best cameras in the industry. Camera and imaging firmware engineers develop sensor drivers, image signal processor configuration, automatic control algorithms, and factory calibration flows. You will tune the precise difference between a good camera and a genuinely great one, collaborating with image scientists, hardware engineers, and product managers to deliver photographs customers love sharing. The discipline is equal parts rigorous engineering and human perception: objective metrics guide every decision, but the ultimate judgment happens when a real person looks at the resulting image.

What you will achieve

Develop robust image sensor drivers over MIPI CSI-2 with correct power-up initialization sequences, comprehensive mode tables, and validated timing configuration
Deliver expert ISP tuning: color science calibration, sharpness optimization, noise reduction balancing, and tone mapping parameters, all validated against formal image quality targets
Implement 3A control algorithms (auto exposure, auto white balance, autofocus) achieving fast, stable convergence across diverse and challenging real-world scenes
Build factory calibration processes: lens shading correction tables, defect pixel mapping, and geometric calibration, all under statistical process control
Debug image quality regressions methodically: controlled laboratory captures, objective metric analysis, blind A/B comparisons, and rigorous root-cause determination

What you will bring

Must-haves

2 to 5 years in camera or imaging firmware development with shipping camera products used by real customers
Understanding of image sensor fundamentals: rolling versus global shutter trade-offs, pixel architectures, HDR capture modes, and readout speed implications
Experience with MIPI CSI-2 interface development and sensor driver implementation: I2C control sequences, mode switching logic, and timing validation
Familiarity with ISP processing pipelines: demosaic algorithms, noise reduction, tone mapping curves, color correction matrices, and sharpening controls
Knowledge of 3A algorithm behavior in practice: convergence speed characteristics, tuning parameter effects, and scene-dependent failure modes
Ability to evaluate image quality objectively: standardized test charts, quantitative metrics including SNR, MTF, and color error, combined with structured perceptual assessment
BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science

Nice-to-haves

Experience with computational photography techniques: multi-frame stacking, night sight modes, HDR fusion, or portrait depth effects
Familiarity with V4L2 Linux media framework, Android camera HAL, or comparable camera software architectures
Knowledge of lens optics fundamentals: distortion models, chromatic aberration, vignetting characterization, and MTF measurement
Experience integrating machine learning based image enhancement models running efficiently on device
